Class Description:

Advanced sessions are open to anyone who's been given the green light by a trainer. If you're eager to dive into Advanced classes,  just reach out to a trainer for the inside scoop. It's all about taking your dog's skills up a notch and embracing the challenge. Your canine companion will improve their reliability with basic commands amid real-world distractions – think other dogs, bustling environments, and plenty of people- and learn more complicated skills, as well.

This class is a welcome haven for dogs ready to thrive. However, if a dog throws off the class vibe – whether it's some lively barking or reactive behavior – we might gently suggest returning to intermediate classes for a smoother experience. Let's keep the learning environment top-notch for everyone!

Our Agility Training Class is designed to introduce you and your dog to the basics of agility in a fun, engaging, and stimulating environment. It’s a great way to deepen the bond with your dog while offering them physical and mental challenges that will keep them focused and energized.

In this class, you and your dog will be introduced to various agility equipment, such as tunnels, jumps, and weave poles. Not only will you have the opportunity to practice basic agility skills, but you'll also learn how to guide your dog through the course with confidence and precision. The fast-paced and motivating environment will help sharpen your dog’s focus and responsiveness, and it will be an absolute blast for both of you!

Our group training sessions are designed to help you build a confident, well-mannered dog while making training feel fun and natural. Join our leash walking class and become a pro at walking with your dog on a loose leash. This skill is a true reflection of your relationship, and the stronger your connection, the smoother this achievement becomes. We'll dive into straightforward exercises to tackle common challenges – pulling, lunging, surging, or crisscrossing. This class is the next step for dogs already familiar with pressure and release on their collar.

We'll also take the time to discuss and offer training tools such as prong collars, slip leads, and gentle leaders. These tools can be game-changers in your training journey, and they'll be available for purchase to support you along the way. Let's make leash walks a breeze for both you and your dog!

Prerequisites:

Handler has attended at least 6 Beginner classes.

This dog training session is all about tailoring the experience to both you and your canine companion. Imagine a personalized training ground where you get to focus on what matters most to you and your pup, and a skilled trainer is right there to provide guidance and support. Post-walk, we're thrilled to extend the invitation to Yappy Hour, a relaxed gathering offering not only delightful company but also a chance for more distraction work. It's a unique blend of professional training and easygoing socializing. While you savor appetizers, our trainers will be there, ready to provide guidance and tips, ensuring the learning journey continues in a fun and engaging way.

Prerequisites:

• Trainer approval required: Just check with any our our group class trainer for approval.

This class is designed specifically for handlers who are committed to pursuing certification as a pet therapy team and are ready to take that next step with their dog.

In our Pet Therapy classes, we understand that the canine learning journey is an ongoing commitment that spans a lifetime. Our goal is to assist prospective therapy dogs in building a strong foundation in obedience and fostering meaningful partnerships with their handlers.

In these classes, it's not just about basic commands; we take the extra step to prepare you and your dog for the "Pet Partners" certification as a therapy team. The focus is on creating a positive and impactful connection between the dog and handler. Consider our sessions as more than just classes – they serve as stepping stones towards a fulfilling partnership with your canine companion, dedicated to making a positive difference in others' lives.

Our class provides a welcoming environment for dogs ready to thrive. However, if a dog disrupts the class vibe with lively barking or reactive behavior, we may gently suggest returning to intermediate classes for a smoother experience. Let's maintain a top-notch learning environment for everyone!

Prerequisites:  

• Puppy must be between 8 weeks and 6 months of age.

• Puppy must have a recent vet check for wellness and proof of a “negative” fecal test.  

• Puppies do not need to have all vaccinations but must be under a vet’s care. 

Class Description:  

Puppies are constantly learning from their environment, so it's crucial to get them socialized early! Those first few weeks with your new puppy are incredibly important for shaping their behavior and ensuring they grow into well-adjusted dogs. Our Puppy Socialization Class is designed to help you navigate this critical window for socialization (8-16 weeks), when puppies are most receptive to new sights, sounds, smells, and experiences. 

The class focuses on safe, guided interactions between the puppies, helping them learn to communicate and play appropriately with their peers. You’ll also learn what healthy puppy play looks like, and when interventions might be necessary. While it’s tempting to interact with all the adorable pups, we encourage owners to allow the puppies to engage primarily with each other.  Here are some key behaviors we monitor and address:

-  Biting:  Puppies are learning boundaries, but biting is something we’ll gently interrupt to ensure safe play.

-  Anxiety or Nervousness:  For more shy or clingy puppies, we’ll guide you in giving them space to build confidence.

- Rough Play:  We keep a close eye on interactions to ensure no puppy is overwhelmed. If needed, assertive puppies may be managed with a leash or brief breaks behind a gate until they're ready to rejoin calmly.  

Our goal is a positive experience for all puppies while maintaining a safe and fun environment. If any behaviors need extra management, our trainers will take the appropriate steps to keep things safe and comfortable for everyone involved.

Important Notes:   

If your puppy is in heat, we ask that you keep them home for the session. 

Prerequisites:

• Dog has demonstrated reactivity towards other dogs or people

• Owner has completed 2 private lessons (or something equivalent)

Class Description:

This class is for those struggling with a dog who reacts strongly to other dogs or people. Whether it's fear, over-excitement, or aggression, we're here to help. In this specialized class, you'll learn how to provide clear communication and establish leadership, which is essential in addressing your dog's reactivity.

Our focus is on helping your dog trust you as their leader, reducing the need for them to take charge in stressful situations. You’ll learn how to build a relationship grounded in respect and how to guide your dog’s behavior, reinforcing positive social interactions and curbing undesirable reactions.
