Meet Sydney, Our Virtual Apprentice Trainer
I first discovered my love for dogs when I began dog sitting for my neighbor’s senior dogs. Caring for them inspired me to look for other opportunities where I could make a difference in the lives of dogs. I volunteered at senior dog sanctuaries and participated in charities gathering donations for dogs in shelters. I heard about an opening for an apprentice trainer with Paws and Possibilities and thought it was a perfect fit. I find the dog training world fascinating and I love that there is always something new to learn.
In the beginning of my junior year I became a puppy raiser for Guiding Eyes for the Blind and am currently raising a yellow lab named Milo. I love being able to apply everything I have learned as an apprentice trainer to Milo’s training. Next spring, I plan to graduate with my B.A. in Criminal Justice & Sociology. After graduation I hope to combine my passion for dog training and knowledge from my degree to become a K9 handler in law enforcement.
