Emma has held a lifelong love for animals that she hoped to build into a career from a young age. As the daughter of an expat, she moved often and looked for any and all opportunities to be with animals at every move.

Whether that meant helping with a friend’s backyard chicken flock in Colorado, fostering stray cats in Greece, or just providing pet care for expat families anywhere she landed. All these experiences fostered Emma’s deep love for animals, but knowing she did not want to work as a veterinarian a career with animals did not seem possible.

The lack of awareness about other career paths in animal fields led Emma to begin her college career pursuing an English degree at University College Dublin. Emma spent two years in Dublin but lacked a true passion for what she was studying so she decided it was time for a change.

In 2023, Emma moved to Maryland and began working for a luxury pet boarding facility while applying for the following academic year. In the fall of 2024, Emma began studying Animal Sciences – Care and Management at the University of Maryland. While at UMD, she has had incredible opportunities working with the animals on the campus farm and building connections with students, faculty and guest lecturers.

Emma began at Paws and Possibilities in the spring of 2026 after connecting with Kim as a guest lecturer in a class. Outside of Paws and Possibilities, Emma loves to crochet, bake, go to concerts, and spend time with her pets!
