Meet Natalie, Our Apprentice Trainer
Growing up, I had cats, dogs, and guinea pigs, often finding it much easier getting along with them rather than people. I always dreamed of working with animals, initially wanting to be a vet, but overtime, that transitioned into wanting to work in a zoo.
I went on to study Conservation and Wildlife Management at Delaware Valley University where I learned and gained a lot of experience working with both small and large animals. Throughout college and sometime after, I worked at different doggy day cares.
In the summer of 2023, I became an Animal Educator at Six Flags in New Jersey. This is where my love of animal training started. I had the opportunity to work with several species like California Sea Lions, Coatimundi, and various parrots. I left Six Flags to continue my career as a Zoo Keeper in Frankford, Delaware. As a Keeper, one of the most important jobs of mine – and my favorite one so far – involves training our animals for various behaviors like voluntary injections or being able to do full body checks on all of our animals. Now, at Paws and Possibilities, I’m looking forward to making training animals my primary focus!
